Ami Carpenter, PhD, is an associate professor at the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies at the University of San Diego. Her research focuses on community resilience to violence, with an emphasis on social networks and collective efficacy. Recent funded projects include resilience to sectarian violence in Iraqi communities, urban resilience to gang involved sex trafficking, and youth resilience among refugee communities.
