Barbara Borst
Adjunct Professor, Center for Global Affairs
Barbara Borst teaches courses on refugees and internationally displaced persons, democratic transitions, news media and international affairs, children and youth in the global context, African affairs, and writing. She has led classes to Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa and Ghana. She also has taught at NYU’s Journalism Institute.
While based abroad for a dozen years, in Nairobi, Johannesburg, Paris and Toronto, she reported for Newsday, The Boston Globe, The Dallas Morning News, The Los Angeles Times and Inter Press Service news agency. At The Associated Press, she was an editor on the international desk and frequently reported from the United Nations.
She holds a BA from Yale and an MA in international relations from Boston University.
